PEACE IN A PANDEMIC

When the world is in chaos, what is happening inside of you? If you look to the Bible for answers, it won't take you long to discover that the world inside its pages was rife with calamity, chasms and chaos...

If you look to the outside for peace, you may find a temporary respite. If it's safe - indulge!

If you look to the Word of God, you will find abiding peace that lasts even through storms, floods, droughts and pandemics. It lasts beyond the lowest depths, the highest heights and the plummeting crashes in between.

In the book of John, Chapter 14 is a comforting passage that instructs us how to have abiding peace. It is based on living in the Spirit and truth of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was preparing his disciples for his departure, he wanted them to know that they could still have the assurance of peace even when he was no longer present on earth with them. Today we have that same assurance that the Spirit will remind us of the truths of who Jesus is, what he has done, and what he will do for us. Reading and meditating on these truths is the way to abide in peace. Communing with God in prayer will also unite our hearts with his and assure us that we are in him and that he is working for our good (see Romans 8:26-30 and 1 John 3:18-23).

Whatever pandemic or belly-of-a-whale you find yourself in, rest assured that peace is attainable through the abiding presence of Jesus Christ.

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."   JESUS
